Your quiz answers are used in this browser to build your free 2036. Closing the page clears them. When you start checkout for the Plot Twist, your answers, the year on your card and the content edition are sent to No Plot Twist, the server adds the purchase date, and all of it is stored as an authenticated encrypted recovery snapshot, so the private email link can reopen the same plot twist without the quiz. Earlier Life Receipt purchases work the same way with their own answers.

No Plot Twist may record privacy-minimized product events such as landing viewed, generator started, step completed, result revealed, shared link opened, referred result completed, paid offer seen, premium preview opened, checkout opened, weekly campaign viewed or started, export downloaded, seasonal projection viewed, rarity desk viewed, comparison offer viewed or created, share attempted, and share completed. These events help us find broken steps and understand whether the product is worth keeping alive.

Events use random tab-scoped session and flow IDs stored in session storage—not advertising cookies. We do not store your name, email, IP address, full referrer URL, questionnaire answers, generated copy, or PNG alongside them. Raw events are pruned after 90 days. Global Privacy Control and browser Do Not Track signals disable these product events. Creator seeding uses a non-personal campaign code; the analytics event does not require a creator name, handle, email, message, or audience list.

For new Life Receipt checkouts, the random flow ID may also be attached to the commerce session to count confirmed purchases and revenue per completed quiz. That association can connect this quiz flow to a purchase record; it is not anonymous. We do not send the purchase email or answers to the analytics table. No flow ID is attached when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.

Feed and Story PNGs are drawn in your browser. The optional Motion Story is also recorded locally in the tab without uploading its frames. If you arrived through a safe result link, you may explicitly build an optional two-person PNG from that public preview and your own public result. That composite is drawn locally and is not uploaded or stored as a pair by No Plot Twist. The optional Rest-of-Year Feed or Story file is also drawn locally from today's self-reported current average and a public calendar window. It is a projection—not a stored history of your device use. When file sharing is supported, your device opens its own share sheet. We do not choose a recipient, upload the file, or post anything automatically. If direct sharing is unavailable, the app starts a download instead.

THE LINK CARRIES THE HOOK—NOT THE CONFESSION.

New links carry the ID of the card on your result, the result year, the year shown on that card, a random share ID and, on trip cards only, the group size and the kind of chat message shown. Everything in the link is already visible on the card you send, so the recipient sees the same card. It never includes your answers.

If you call someone out, the link also carries your bet and, if you typed it, your first name. Your friend sees both. Analytics records only that a bet was made and whether it was right, never the bet itself or your name.

When a chat app shows a preview of the link, it fetches a picture of that card from us. That request carries the same card fields, without the share ID.

Earlier Life Receipt links carry the content edition, an editorial scene ID, the result year, rounded phone-time days and a random share ID. This identifies the public joke you selected, so it can reveal its broad topic. It never includes your private note or the raw questionnaire answers.

In the original screen-time experience, the ready-made share action can add a random share ID, your generated internet job title, the rounded headline number of days, and whether that headline refers to phone or social-media time. This lets the recipient see the public hook before running their own file.

The link does not include your custom goal, questionnaire choices, exact daily minutes, alibi, caption, file code, image, name, email, or account identifier. A Screen-Time Sunday link may additionally include the public campaign name and Sunday date. A labelled creator-demo link may include a non-personal seed campaign code and disclosed demo result. A Rest-of-Year link may additionally include the edition label and exact public start/end dates through December 31. It carries the rounded projection, never the exact daily minutes used to calculate it. The random share ID identifies one sharing loop, not a person, and expires from raw analytics under the same retention policy described above.

A recipient can combine the safe preview you chose to send with their own safe preview in a local two-person PNG. There is no winner, score, public ranking, or stored group. If they share onward, the next link carries only their own title, rounded number, and phone/social label— not the pair.

A COUNTER FOR FILES. NOT A PROFILE OF PEOPLE.

If the rarity feature is enabled and your browser does not send Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, a completed result may send one opaque, enumerated job-title category code and whether its headline used phone or social time. The dedicated table increments only an aggregate counter. It does not store an individual rarity event, session or flow ID, referral code, questionnaire answer, exact minute value, goal, title text, name, email, or IP address.

A frequency appears only after at least 250 generated files on the same surface and 25 files in that title bucket. Smaller bucket counts stay hidden. These are generated-file frequencies, not population rankings; repeat generations can count again. Aggregate counters may be retained to keep the published denominator auditable. Normal infrastructure logs are covered separately below.

LOCAL SAVE IS A BUTTON. NOT A SURPRISE.

The new Life Receipt saves one set of answers, content edition and year only when you press “Save a rerun in this browser”. Your private note is always excluded. You can remove that save on the home screen. A recovered purchase is also available through its separate signed access key.

In the original experience, the optional Private Rerun Drawer stores up to five cases in this browser's local storage only after you press the save button. A saved case contains the exact phone and social minute estimates, behavior and context choices, and broad goal category needed to run the same inputs again. Your optional custom goal label is excluded by default and is included only if you explicitly select that extra checkbox.

There is no account, cloud sync, database copy, cookie, or share link for this drawer. Anyone with access to the same browser profile may be able to open it; clearing browser site data may erase it. Saving, removing, and clearing cases are not sent to analytics. A rerun may be counted only as a privacy-minimized generator start and completion with a local-rerun source—never with the saved answers or a referral credit. Each case has a remove control, and clearing the whole drawer requires a second confirmation click.

PADDLE HANDLES THE CARD. WE HANDLE THE ACCESS KEY.

When you buy the Plot Twist (or bought an earlier Full Life Receipt or Full Case File), Paddle acts as the checkout seller and processes payment, billing details, taxes, receipts, and payment-method data. No Plot Twist does not receive or store your full card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay credentials.

To deliver and recover the purchase, No Plot Twist stores the Paddle transaction and customer IDs, checkout email, price and currency totals, order/refund status, an entitlement record, and an authenticated encrypted snapshot of the purchased answers, content edition and result year (for the Plot Twist, also the purchase date that sets its story). Earlier receipts include phone time, routine, work, social-life and goal choices, plus the optional private note. Original purchases keep their six-input recipe. A signed access key is stored in your browser and sent to the checkout email. Only an active signed entitlement can request the snapshot. The server decrypts the recipe to restore the purchased content. New full stories require active access; their cards are drawn in your browser. Generated PNGs are not stored on our server. Transaction and recovery records may be retained for support, fraud, refunds, and legal/accounting duties. Contact hello@noplotwist.com for a privacy request.

MINIMAL APP DATA. NORMAL SERVER LOGS MAY STILL EXIST.

Like most hosting providers, the web server and security services may process basic technical request information needed to deliver and protect the site. No Plot Twist does not put questionnaire answers or generated receipts into ordinary logs or analytics; the encrypted paid recovery snapshot remains inside its dedicated commerce record.

Reload or close the page to clear unsaved answers from the app. Saved reruns remain only in this browser until you remove one case, use the two-step clear-all control, or clear the site's browser storage. Any PNG, Motion Story or two-person lineup you downloaded belongs to you and can be deleted from your device whenever you want. A purchased case snapshot is tied to its commerce record for recovery; contact us to request deletion, subject to records we must retain for legal or accounting duties.
